E-A-R Ｓｐｅｃｉａｌｔｙ Composites offers a family of damped elastomeric mounts designed specifically for the miniature cooling fans needed by today’s compact electronics. Resembling golf tees, the ISODAMP® thermoplastic mounts are available in both standard and custom configurations.
E-A-R’s damped elastomeric fan mounts form resilient connections between a fan and the substrate to which it attaches. Thus they prevent the transfer of structural vibration energy from component to component. This vibration can create unacceptable noise, interfere with equipment accuracy and ultimately shorten product life.
E-A-R’s standard fan mount configurations accommodate a number of the most commonly used fans. They are engineered with a unique design to facilitate assembly - usually replacing metal hardware or rubber mounts with no damping benefits - yet provide secure fastening, and effective vibration and shock control. ISODAMP moldable thermoplastics afford cost-effective custom designs as well.

E-A-R tested the vibration and acoustic spectra of a 12-volt DC axial fan, 60x60x2.5mm, mounted in a satellite television receiver. The hydrowave-bearing(HWB) fan is rated at 32.0db(A). Tests compared two different mounting conditions: a hard mount (without an isolator) and a fan mount molded from ISODAMP C-1002 thermoplastic.

The HoloProTM Mirror Screen enables daylight projection as front projection, independent of ambient light.
In contrast to the HoloProTM screen, projection takes place from the front.
The projected image is carefully redirected through the special holographic-optical elements and reflected
through the mirror to the viewer.
The ambient light does not affect the projection.
This means that high-quality pictures with great contrast are now presented in space-saving front projection.

HoloProTM is a transparent projection surface for rear projections,
which can be used independentaly of the ambient light.
The image is projected at a special calcurated angle from behind onto the screen
and is directed by Holographic-optical elements to the viewer.
Light from other directions passes uninfluenced through the screen
and does not interface with projection.
When nothing is being projected onto it, you can look through HoloPro just like looking through a pane of glass.
As bright as day and transparent: thanks to these special characteristics, completely innovative applications
in the area of picture presentation are possible. HoloPro provides the possibility of new visual dimensions,
particularly in the area of trade fair, events and conferences.

The signals are then routed to two projectors, which are stacked and project
images in register.
To attain the 3D effect, a polarized filter must be fitted in front of the lens on each
projector, and the images must be viewed through polarized 3D glasses.

E-A-R’s ISODAMP® C-8002 Series

E-A-R’s ISODAMP® C-8002 Series thermoplastic molding material combines excellent damping performance and mechanical strength with compliance to environmental and other high cleanliness specifications, for high performance solutions in a wide variety of molded parts applications.
Proprietary ISODAMP® C-8002 TPE manages the conflicting requirements of shock and vibration control with a molecular structure that ensures low vibration amplification at system resonance, and provides excellent shock protection within tight space constraints. Highly damped C-8002 material effectively dissipates shock and vibration energy internally and quickly restores system equilibrium.
There are no halogens or other specific, banned substances in ISODAMP® C-8002, making it an ideal solution for products designed for Japan and other applications with environmental regulations limiting the use of a wide variety of formulations. In addition, C-8002, contains no silicones, metal oxides, chromium, arsenic, lead, heavy metals, or banned CASE materials.
ISODAMP® C-8002’s physical properties - soft, pliable, strong, wear-resistant, flame-resistant, and highly dielectric - make it ideal for a broad range of applications where shock, vibration and noise control solutions are required. Off-the-shelf standard components include grommets, fan mounts, bushings and equipment feet. ISODAMP® C-8002 is also available in custom molded configurations to meet unique design challenges..

The Difference Is The Damping

ISODAMP® C-8002 elastomers offer important advantages over lightly damped materials, such as natural and synthetic rubbers, silicones, gels and commodity TPEs. These advantages are especially important to control noise, shock and vibration in complex, component-dense OEM products.
Lightly damped isolators, soft enough for good vibration and shock protection isolation, may require more sway space and room for deflection during a shock input than most product designs can allow. But a stiffer isolator, which may be needed to prevent crashing or bottoming out, could have a negative effect on vibration performance. Highly damped ISODAMP® C-8002 isolators help alleviate these conflicts. With low amplification at resonance (Figure 1), ISODAMP® isolators reduce the need for low natural frequency systems, allowing a stiffer ISODAMP® mount for excellent stock control, while still providing vibration isolation performance for the most noise control applications.
In addition, compared with lightly damped mounts, the high damping in ISODAMP® C-8002 isolators also means lower peak acceleration and displacement response(sway) to shock input, and dramatically reduced settling time. (Figure 2).

Figure 1：
Lightly damped isolators can amplify incoming vibration, causing damage and excess noise. E-A-R ISODAMP® and VersaDamp isolators help minimize this concern and better accommodate variable-frequency , impulsive or broadband vibration sources.

  Figure 2：
ISODAMP® elastomers reduce sway space by nearly half, slowing for compact shock protection systems.

The high internal damping of the ISODAMP® vinyl and ISOLOSS® urethane material families reduces mechanically or acoustically induced vibrations and dissipates shock and impact energy at a very rapid rate. These properties- in conjunction with excellent physical strength, flexibility, and good environmental and flame resistance- make E-A-R isolation materials ideal for constrained layer damping, damped isolation and impact control applications.
